As promised, I've added in some more in-game maps that people sent me, this time for Nedaria's Landing (this is an older one) and one for Natimbi in the Cartography section.

Future Maps
Wednesday, February 11th

With the arrival of the latest expansion, I figured I would remind everyone who has forgotten or those who are new that I don't plan on putting up any more maps on the site unless someone submits them to me. I think that the new in-game cartography system, although not what I consider pretty, is very functional and solves the need that caused me to put up the site in the first place (it will be five years ago in March). If anyone has any maps they want to submit for that as well, I'll take them (I've been pretty lax about putting them up lately, I know). The in-game maps that I have are under the Cartography System link to the left.

LDoN Maps
Sunday, October 12th

I hope everyone is enjoying the new expansion. I just wanted to let you all know that I don't plan on creating maps for LDoN myself. If anyone wants to make maps to put up on the site, please feel free to submit them and I'll take a look. Also, if anyone is feeling energetic and wants to send in specific information (such as zone names and such) for them, I can at least add them to the list, even if I don't put in new maps.

New Chinese Translation Available
Saturday, August 23rd

There is a new Chinese version of the site now available, you can find it through the Chinese link on the left and also through the same link at the top of the Atlas page.

I want to thank the people at Ubi Soft China for providing me with the translation. Since it comes right from the company that does EQ for China, I think the translation should be pretty good...

Updated PDF - More Info
Tuesday, July 22nd

Just some more information on those trying to update their copy of the PDF, and I apologize this is not that easy.

First, do not repurchase it with the link to the right. I can not provide refunds. It's not that I don't want to, but I physically can't. So don't do it.

Second, if you have your original email and use the link there, you get a page that looks like a receipt. You did not repurchase it, so don't worry, just click the download link there and you can get it.

Third, if you do not have your original email, click the following link: http://store.esellerate.net/support/ and enter your information there to have it sent to you again.

Lastly, if all the above doesn't work, then email me.

Updated PDF and New Map
Saturday, July 19th

The EQ Atlas PDF has been updated to include the LoY and PoP maps that I recently added to the page. Note that this is not the same as the cartography maps that you use with the in-game LoY interface.

I've added up the last LoY map, Hate's Fury, again courtesy of Wyntrou Wyndrover of Saryn.

New Maps
Saturday, June 21st

I've added up six new maps, for three of the Ykesha zones (Dulak's Harbor and caves, Crypt of Nadox, and Gulf of Gunthak) courtesy of Wyntrou Wyndrover of Saryn, and two more Planes of Power maps (of the Isle of Xegony in Eryslai, and the Burning Lands) courtesy of Saeny again.

Also, the NDA has been lifted off of SWG, so you can expect a review up on RPG Atlas over the weekend.

Two Info Bits
Sunday, April 27th

Two things today. First I've opened up a blog at RPG Atlas where I'll put up some more info in the next few days. Be sure to check it out.

Also (I'll probably go to hell for not putting this up sooner) but I got this interesting announcement a few days back:

A major PC game publisher is looking for hardcore MMORPG fans in the Los Angeles area to attend a focus group session. Applicants should be able to get to a location close to Los Angeles Airport (LAX) on Wednesday, April 30th by 6PM. Experience of dice-based fantasy role playing games is advantageous but not essential.

Please send your name, age, gender and telephone number (day and evening) to: recruit@mmrcinc.com and be sure to enter "MMO Games" in the subject line.

If you match specified criteria, a member of Meczka Marketing Research/Consulting, Inc., will contact you for a brief telephone interview.

Your input could help define and shape the future of MMORPGs!

New PoP Maps
Saturday, March 15th

I've put up a bunch of new Planes of Power maps, courtesy of Saeny Rangerheart from Core of Legends guild on Fennin Ro. They're quite good, check them out.

Also, if anyone can spell out the flag process for PoP, I could come up with a zone "connection" chart for that area. Let me know.

Text files for Map System available
Wednesday, February 26th

I've added in a new Cartography Section for you to be able to download text files for the new expansion's zone. These are zipped and labelled by what zones are in them. Instructions for how to use them are provided in that section.

Also, there are two other ways to view maps in the game. First is the GUI XML Creator, that will let you import jpg images from this site and others to view in game. You can also get the Muse's Maps PDF which contains all the maps from the site in one PDF file, if you want to alt-tab out and see them. Check them out and see if they're what you need!

I've also made some minor changes throughout the site to incorporate the new Legacy of Ykesha information.

Muse's Maps PDF Available!
Thursday, February 20th

The new PDF of the EQ Atlas site, called Muse's Maps, is now available for purchase and download for $9.95. Please see the details page for instructions and further information.

I feel I need to mention piracy when I post this, since the potential for this has kept the PDF not available until now. If this experiment fails because people are sending it to all their friends and posting it on the web, the experiment will end and the PDF will no longer be available. You are all on the honor system with this, since I don't believe in encumbering e-books with a ton of copy protection, but if I'm losing money it will end. Hopefully everyone understands this and there aren't any problems...

LoY Cartography System
Saturday, February 15th

Friday brought the announcement of the new cartography system that will be going in with the Legacy of Ykesha expansion. I haven't got the details yet, but hopefully we'll be able to transfer the maps people make around. Doing the maps still requires you to run along the walls and collect points to draw the map out. Needless to say, I've been doing this for years now, and have a program that does the same thing with the log files, and it takes hours to make a good map, so I'll guarantee few of you will be making a hobby of this new tool. However, it does add the neat feature of giving you an arrow to tell you which direction you're going, and putting your own markers on the maps.

Anyway, I'm going to look into hosting the files if they are able to be transferred around between people (I imagine they have to be somehow if you have local data), as well as possibly coming up with a converter for many of the map parses I already have collected for people to download. There will also be the GUI XML Creator for people to use if they want to include other maps (like the ones on this page) and this coming week the EQ Atlas PDF will be coming out, so stay tuned.
